Some of the so called free swimming fishes are only to see in the open water. I have to look away from the reef in time, other wise I will miss them. Often they swim too fast too take a (good) picture. The camera is not turned on, flash is not ready (well, you don’t need it, the fish is too far anyway), I want to alert my buddy so he can see it also. Or the fish is just too far away. Lots of these fishes do come to the reef to find food or get cleaned. Then it’s easier to photograph them.
